The Mike Vick Trade

I've been trying to figure out what the deal is with Mike Vick. Why do people think he's so special. He can run, yes. Throw, no. I take that back, he has a great arm but his accuracy is horrible. His team (the Atlanta Falcons) have done well because they have a great running game and a solid defense. They never win because of his arm. In analyzing the trade in 2001 Vick has never thrown for more than 16 touchdowns in 1 year, he has great rushing stats but is hurt quite often. Now ask yourself this question, who did the San Diego Chargers get? Well they have quite possible the best player in the game in Ladanian Tomlinson and a really good and accurate passer in Drew Brees. So I ask the question, what's all the hype over Mike Vick? I personally think that they are a better team with Matt Schaub at QB and we all know that if you're going to win a Super Bowl you better have a good passing game. Defenses can game plan for a running game and if this happens you better have a good passing game to compliment the running game. The Falcons will never win a Super Bowl because of this. I'll take a Drew Brees touchdown pass to LT or Antonio Gates over a Mike Vick 40 yard run anytime. He pulls a hamstring everytime he bootlegs. He can fill the stands and is a great marketing product for the Falcons but a superbowl, no.

I couldn't agree with you more BOE. Vick is one whale of a marketing ploy, but his play pales in comparison to LT and Brees to date.
